Highlights

  • Cross-functional Business Process Mapping Retreat scheduled for January 26.
  • Assessment Workshop upcoming next week. CBE Programs will define performance indicators for each competency & align each performance indicator with an assessment strategy.
  • Sprint 4 will begin on February 1. Milestones to be shared in upcoming strand meetings.

Business Processes & Systems

Leader: Nick Stevens

Next Meeting: Feb 8

Working draft of 10-year Academic Calendar complete.

Credit Equivalency Workgroup met and made a working decision: CBE Programs should have 3-6 competencies per 3 credit-hour course. Total competency count should not exceed 120% of total program credit-hour equivalent.

Curriculum & Learning

Leader: Kelli Feldman

Next Meeting: Jan 31

Iteration on the Curriculum strand’s working decisions reviewed:

  1. Mastered / Not - need to have a designated "Not Mastered" grade for Financial Aid purposes
  2. Instead of using NP/LP/SP grades, we will create a single "In Progress" (IP or PR) grade for CBE programs

In today’s meeting, we began discussions on final grading policy. We’ll continue discussing this & begin exploring credit for prior learning in our next meeting.

Unicon’s Final Recommendations can be found here. Next step is to complete the Business Process Mapping exercise. That will inform our process for evaluating current system functionality and initiating demos for solutions needed to fill CBE functional gaps.

Policy & Regulatory Compliance

Working across strands to gather the components of the HLC application, with goal of submitting the CBE Project Management program to HLC in February.

HOPE & STEM to be submitted to KBOR together. Drafting a second iteration of the CBE at KU 2-page document to attach to applications.

Service audit is complete, awaiting guidance from broader fees workgroup to inform next steps.

Working on proposal for staffing model.

On December 18, began work to define the ‘Coach’ role - shared with Faculty Model workgroup on 1/12.
